Need help with Propeller Arena...

Ok I was really looking forward to this one but the game just won't work for me. The DC basically spins the cd over and over and doesn't even get past the bios screen. I've tried burning it with different programs, and I have like 6 coasters now of this game. What's strange though is that the Chankast emulator will see the game for all the 'coasters' I burned, it gets past the sega screen and can't load the game further.

So the question is, how can a buggy alpha version of an emulator get further in the loading process than my actual Dreamcast? Do I need to make a dummy file so that the cd is maxed out to 650 MB? Cause it's only 401 MB according to windows. Any help would be appreciated, I don't know how you all got it working. I know hrb2k you seem to have got it to work really nice, could you maybe post a step-by-step how you did it?

Ok I downloaded it in RAR format and that extracted to a 458MB CDI image. I burned that with DiscJuggler 4.1 and coaster. That was at 4X because it's the trial version and it limits it to that. My burner isn't recognized in 3.X :-(, and I know that is the recommended program for DC games.

Next I used a utility called CDI2NERO and made a nero image of it, burned that at about 24X and same thing.

Next I used Alcohol 120% and burned the original CDI at 24X, and that was the third coaster.

The last thing I tried was doing a cd-to-cd copy from daemon-tools, and this was also at 24X.

So yeah, 4 cds wasted and I think I might have forgotten a couple other ones.

24x....thats too fast.

ok, make sure you use CDI2NERO v.0.9.9 and burn the .nrg at a slower speed, like 8x, or 12x using Nero 5.5.10.x, Disc-At-Once/96.

Well I tried burning it real slow at 4X and still the same thing. I think I'll try using another burner from my friend. It's strange that nobody seems to be having this problem.

Oh well, cds are cheap these days so it's no big deal, I'll keep trying!

PA should work without any trouble, even on a pal dc.
(with dj 4.1)

try to burn another game, there may be a problem
with your burner (nicotine poisoning for example).

Well I finally got it to work on my sister's cd burner, LG 16X or something. I was trying to do it using my LG Multi Drive DVD-+R burner, and I guess it doesn't burn DC games very well. Also I put the speed down to like 8 because the first time I tried the DC would keep making that deep loading noise over and over. So I knew I was on the right track already but I just had to decrease the burning speed. Thanks for all your help everyone, I'll stick to burning DVDs with my DVD burner and CDs with a CD burner. I just didn't expect any new DC games to come out!

By thw way, here's some animated GIFs I made using the new CHANKAST emulator:

Isn't the DC just amazing?
