Couple questions

I recently realized I've been spending way too much money on DVD's and became scared some of them may be hurt in a move coming up for me. I heard that regular DVD burners won't burn a whole DVD. So I researched and found out that Sony was coming out with a Double Layered burner capable of burning up to 8.5 gigs. THe burner got good reviews, but I've been told the media is expensive as hell.

So I may just get a high quality regular DVD-rw. What should i expect as far as burning dvd's goes? Am i going to have to cut all the menus and special features and things out? Or are there compression techiques that will enable a whole movie to be fit onto a DVD-r?

Hope this makes sense. Thanks.

You don't need a dual layer burner to do movies. You can either split onto two discs or compress. Read the dvd backup for dummies sticky on the top of this board.
