civ 3 burning (Alcohol 120)

I wanna make a backup for my Civ 3 Gold edition and my play the world. I found out Civ 3 is safedisc 2.x.x and have Alcohol 120 v1.9.2 (1705).
When I started to make the image a whole list of error reading block things came up with numbers ranging from 800 to 10000. Then it carried on ok and made the image. Is this normal or do I need to change the settings?

Cheers! I did read it but I just wanted to make sure (I only have a finite number of CD's!)
I also take it that I should use a CD-RW with Safedisc 2 as they can muck up right?

excatly!
If it's done well it would work on CD-RW disc. And if it work on CD-RW disc you can be shure it works on the CD-R disc! and then you can erase it from CD-RW disc!

What speed should I use to burn with Alcohol 120? 4x, 8x, more?

EDIT: Strange, it burned ok on CD-RW at 4x. Then with the CD-R I tried twice and it pretended to burn but the disk was blank on 4x and 8x! I tried to burn a third time on Maximum speed and it worked!
