xbox live when chipped

hope can help have read a bit on ur site into most stuff but not bothered with xbox recently had an xbox chipped for some1 told them what was explained to me which was to press button once xbox loads as normal are able to do xbox live with no hassles but not to go on when chip is enabled only prob for me that i dont understand is when chipped xbox light is orange and graphics startup is orange and when not on is green says he did that but has still been banned as have seen he has a mod chip says he did not have chip enabled but i think yes he did poss!!!!!! can any1 help me to tell him what has gone wrong by the way says he no's a lot but now im not sure

hehe
u have to lock ur xbox hdd (whatever hdds in there)
turn off the chip..
itll boot to normal ms dash if he didnt rename xboxdash.xbe
and it should be fine to go from xbox live from an originial disc from there
although..
