OK, first let me suggest you to read and follow Sacrilego tutorial closely to setup your DC and PC, I guaranty you that It will connect, if It doesn't then for sure you have problem some where down the road
1. I would use crossover cat5 PC to PC cable to connect ( don't use any HUB or Switch yet, this to make sure you have a good connection in between) 2. Setup your DC and PC according to Sacrilego tutorial 3. if you successfully connected, use Xena tutorial to do the rest, if you still have problem then try this medthod Try to uninstall your LAN card driver, take out all of your previous network setup completely, as soon as you are done reboot your PC and reinstall your LAN driver and reconfigure your network, at this point you are ready to give it a shot, if It sill doesn't do it then try to use your LAN card diagnose software to see if your card is OK, try different cable At last if none of this works then you need a clean installation of win 98 without any driver install except LAN driver, you can use powerquest partition magic software to configure your PC to multi boot and dedicate 1 partition for a win98 network (Sometimes, some of the drivers you installed is taking up memory and causing conflict, but windows still says everythings is OK hope this is gonna help) bug |

OK buddy
tell me something here, when you plug the cable (crossover PC to PC) from your BBA to your LAN card and boot your DC (dreamcast) with either IP slave CD or BBA Passport did you see both of the LED on the back of your LAN card comes on?? if I does, then I'm very sure that your DC, BBA, and LAN are OK and ready to connect and you might have a problem with your configuration on your PC side, if LED doesn't come on then the first thing I should try is run the Diagnose software provided by the LAN manufacturer to see if your card is OK, check and try different cable and check to see if you can see LED turn on if it still does'n then It might be you BBA Let me know what you find |
