I just wonder how to set BBA back to default? (what value will it be?) It seems to me that I'm having the same problem as Sacrilego had earlier about the times out error, I try to fix it up but still dont know how. Please help
Thank you

These are for the DC,
BB ripping requires basic knowledge of how networks work.

Let me suggest this for you.

1.- dont use Win2k. I've tested it already in 8 diffrent win2k machines from proffesional to advanced server and it has never worked for me, it connects, but it'll always time out.

2.- make sure you use the dcipload from Xena's site, there's others on the net that already have an IP assigned, avoid them or else you'll have to setup your machine according to it.

3.- hook up your pc with a crossover cable to the DC or you can also use a hub\switch.

4.- If there are other computers in the network, make sure the ip you choose wont conflict, you can do this by typing in a DOS box "PING x.x.x.x" (without quotes) where "x" is the number of the ip you choosed for you DC,make sure the DC isn't on first.
if you get something like:

Pinging 10.10.1.1 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 10.10.1.1: bytes=32 time<10ms TTL=255

Then it's in use by another machine.

If you get:

Pinging 10.10.1.250 with 32 bytes of data:
Request timed out.

Then you can use that ip, but remember, it has to be in the same subnet as your pc.(hint: just make changes to the last number)

5.- don't just use any IP, use an IP in the private range. it can be 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x. if your PC is the only one in the network, set your PC's IP to 192.168.0.1, subnet mask 255.255.255.0 Gateway,DNS, WINS doesn't matter all that much on your PC for ripping (I'm replying to you while ripping a game).

6.-set all IP settings in the DC to 0.0.0.0 ,the proxy has to be blank not 0.0.0.0 (I don't think the proxy settings affect it, but it's for good measure).

7.-if your PC and DC are all alone in the network, assign in BBRIP (not in quake3, ut or BB passport) 192.168.0.2 following xena's instructions.

8.-You should now be able to connect at least, follow xena's instructions.

Make sure your DC is hooked to a tv so you can see what's happening and also to see the MAC address.

If the download screen just disapears for no reason, then select download again, it'll connect and try to download for sure next time (seems to be a bug), any time you get an error code, close the download box to cancel the whole thing instead of canceling each track and select reboot on the menu. Sometimes selecting reboot won't restart IPLOAD, that's why it's good to have the DC hooked to a tv when ripping, if it didn't, select reboot again and then connect.
try ripping again.

If you don't see the the spinning swirl in the download box the first time then most likley it'll time out, so be ready to close the download box, if it does, select reboot on the menu(not the DC or PC) and try again.

If you plan on testing diffrent IPs on bbrip, you'll have to set the new ip in bbrip, close bbrip, then delete the IP you used from the ARP table and restart bbrip.

How to delete entry from ARP table:
in a DOS box type in "ARP -a" to show you what IPs and MACs are in the table. type in "ARP -d x.x.x.x" where "x" is the static IP you used in BBRIP, don't delete any dynamic IPs if there's any.

Man, this is like a network\bbrip tutorial in itself

I'll make a Power Point Presentation available for download soon.
I'll post a message on the forum once it's done.

Hey guys
Thank you for your help, eventually I got everything work now
Anyway, the main problem I got is that my geforce driver is taking up without releasing the memory, so soon enough there isn't any memory left for the lan adapter to use as buffer, changing memory address doesn't fix the problem but instead completely take out the driver and install windows standard PCI VGA driver, and wah lah.
Now I just use PQ Partition magic 5 to config my PC as a multi boot partition 1 is for Win2K, 1 is for Win 98 and 1 is use only for Win 98 (Only with LAN driver install) to Rip games, this way I insure that everything is AY OK.
Once again, thankz for your help, people like you guys really make alot of different
best regard

Very interesting details, I'll take note and try with a clean and bare win2k install as I keep hearing some people have gotten it to work in this OS. Thanks.
