problems with magic 3.1............
i have just installed a magic 3.1 in my ps2 version 7 and all my originals and dvds work, but my backups do not work for some reason. i get a red screen when i try to play backups. Playstation 1 games load up except ps2 backup games. please help me. thanks in advance!!

Assuming the PS2 backups are of quality ( Proven to work). I would check for a crossed wire or a dry soldered wire.Btw, TD is correct, The magic 3 chips did have a few bugs and are outdated, You may want to update to a DUO, very reliable and cheap

i uninstalled the magic 3.1 and installed the messiah 2, but the messiah 2 does not boot up games at all ither. What do you guys think the problem might be?

by games i mean backups. Originals work fine, as well as dvds.

Are your wires too long or something? Sometimes a shorter wire works better than a really long wire.

i reinstalled every wire, but my ps2 is still not playing any backups, however now it makes a noise like it is trying to boot up my backups, but instead i end up getting a red screen after it takes me to the browse manu for a sec. What do you guys think it might be???

try beefing up the ground and power wires

I'm gonna try and get a cheap PS2 off eBay, get it going and then mod it. What have I got to lose? BTW, what is a 'Dry Joint?'
