SDF Files Downsampling
How does one go about downsampling the video files from the GD-ROM? I have the files on my system. I can convert 'em to mpg with sdf2mpg02, then what? I haven't found a util to convert them back to sdf. I tried the Dreamcast Movie maker, but only supports avi files. I tried to convert the mpg to and avi, but the sucker won't play properly after conversion. On a side note, I would also need to know what apps one gets to downsample the videos. Any input? Thanks, - Tim - |

I guess I missed the fact that the Dreamcast Movie Creator would open MPG files. I have it DS MPG and saving as SFD now.
One note tho, if one get's an error at the very end due to running out of audio, just remove the last frame from the frames to encode options and viola! encoding completes. If anyone has a better solution, I'll try that too. Thanks - Tim -

Dreamcast Movie Creator was a Let Down
Geez, and I thought I had this downsampling figured out. As it turns out the SFD files that DCMC creates are gigantic compared to the originals. If a file starts out at say 20 megs as a SFD, it will be a 19.9 meg MPG, but when I change the MPG to a SFD the file will be 1.2 GB!
Maybe I missed something here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. - Tim - |
