Problem with Extract.exe? or something else?

Hi,
I noticed that after I rip a disc with Bbrip 1.1 and extract the files from the iso with extract.exe, it only goes 5 directories deep.

The specific example I have is Dream Passport Premier. I just received the FULL version the other day so I ripped the files, but in the "SKIN1\DPWWW\HELP\HELPTOP\Q_A" folder there should be another folder called "IMG". This folder along with its contents is missing. All together this happens 5 times. Inside the "/HELPTOP" directory, there are 5 more directories: "/FIRST", "/GUIDE", "/IMG", "Q_A", and "/YOUGO". Each one of them should have an "/IMG" directory, but these "/IMG" directories are missing.

Is there a known bug in extract.exe that causes it to skip directories at a certain depth, or is there another problem?

No idea. But why not try WinRAR - it handles .gz archives perfectly. I never even used extract.exe.

I did get JeffMa's full release of DPP, and guess what - no IMG folders where you say they should be, either. It must be alright, then, as JeffMa would never have released it if there were a problem with it.

EDIT: There is an IMG folder one level higher, though, inside the same folder as HELPTOP.

The IMG folder that you are speaking of (1 directory up) is different. It does not have the images that are called on by the pages within those folders. If you go into help from a CDRom version, you'll see what I mean.

It's not a big deal since it's just a few help pages that are in Japanese, but I'd like to have "ALL" the files anyway... that's just me.
I'm going to re-rip it when I get time and see if I can use something else to extract the files.

I finally took the time to re-rip the FULL Dream Passport Premier. This time, instead of using EXTRACT.EXE, I used ISOFIX on the iso that BbRIP extracts from the GDROM, then extracted the files with ISOBUSTER. This method got ALL the files.
I thought I should follow up on this for any of you who like to back-up your games using a broadband adapter. EXTRACT.EXE may leave some files behind if the directories are too deep, but Isofix.exe and isobuster are more reliable. (For GDROMs that have only 1 track containing actual game data).
