Question X-ecuter vs. X-ecuter 2.3b

I have a Xbox version 1 and I was just wondering what would be the differences if I were to purchase the slightly cheaper and older yet compatibleX-ecuter 1 chip or if I were to purchase the more expensive and newer and still compatible X-ecuter 2.3b chip ? I just would like to know from personal experiences if I should just go for the newer one if it works with more media or if it had patches, new stuff, etc.... By the way I will not be using Xbox Live and I do want to use Xbox connect and upgrade to a larger drive... Any useful comments or suggestions will be appreciated.

P.S. Im sorry if I am breaking any of the forum rules, but from what I read in the rules, asking this type of question was allowed.

Really buy a new one. The old X1 chips sucked.
Not flash upgradable, not able to do a TSOP flash, no fash protection, do not work on any thing above a v1.0 XBox, dose not remove macro-vision, no media patch, no HDD upgrade, and the list gos on an on.

You can pick up an X2.3B for like $36 USD

The X2 Lite holds two BIOSes
The X2 Pro holds four BIOSes

The X2 Lite has to have a programer to be programed by a PC
The X2 Pro has a built in programmer to be programmed by a PC

Noname, if it keeps moving, what you can do is take some hot glue and tack the corners down. Just enough to hold it there and you wont have any problems.
