Regional protections

Are games in the USA protected with Starforce3? I ask because a lot of users on USA Forums don't seem to be aware of the protection. SF3 was developed in Russia, and virtually every new release in Europe (The good ones at least) seem to be using it. Race Driver 2, Manhunt and Hitman Contracts are the latest titles afflicted with the curse that is SF3. I know a few Assembler coding guys who are determined to defeat this evil protection.

yes, some are.
