Question What am I doing wrong with backups

I have tried to burn a backup of GTA Vice City (from doublepack) and...well I haven't had any luck yet. Here's what I've tried using.
All discs are were burned on a Plextor PX-708UF.....

ISO Craxtion 3.1
Autopatched the game and created an iso
Burned with Nero at 2.4x
*COASTER*

XISO 2.2
Used the autopatched default.xbe file and created an iso
Burned with Nero again
*COASTER*

Dragged files using Nero and created a copy that way (No ISO)
*COASTER*

Im using a Xecuter 2.3b with EvoX .3935 bios
Media is FujiFilm DVD+R @ 4x Max write capability (They work flawlessly as movie backups)
I haven't tried to burn a copy without a patched .xbe file

What am I possibly doing to screw this up!!!

OK

How is Recordnow Max better than Nero. I've used Nero for almost 4 or 5 years now. I thought it is the best.

Nero is an excellent app, yet it's not recommeded for use with backing PS2 (dvd) and Xbox games.

For best results everytime, well in my opinion use RNM.

Also, use dvd-r instead of +

Here is what has been working for me for about a month now. I've only made 2 coasters out of a possible 15 successful back-ups and I believe those were my fault for not paying attention. I'll include the steps and all the programs I use maybe it will help. I won't pretend to be an expert and I won't say it's the only right way or the best way but it works for me.

!. Copy the files from the X-Box game disk using Flash FXP. FTP program to the PC hard drive
2. Use Craxtion to patch the files and create the .ISO file
3. Use Nero 6.0 to burn the image to DVD -R and only -R
4. There is no step 4.

.NOTES: Just be sure that you FTP all the files over, sometimes I find that some files get missed to not completed. I dont know why, maybe Flash FXP hiccups or something. But any missing files and it won't run.

I hope this helps, I'm sure ther are many ways to do it, find what works for you.
