hey all wasup, im a xbox copy/backup newbie and I was wondering if it was possible to copy a xbox game and play it without a mod chip.. www.gamehacks.org claims you can and there selling the package that can do it...

Also i seen that you can accsess with xbox with FTP can it been done with out mod chip...?

they suck
cuz theyre very very faulty
and u could end up losin ur xbox

No, I can can Solder very well; as a matter of fact I made a 100 on my soldering test in Elec III...yea the chip, damn I dont have 60 bucks



Im banking on wether on not to get the chip. I like the idea of puttin games or the xbox


Ive also seen chip which enables you to put emulators and other games on youre xbox, is this true? And which is the best mod chip..not counting the fact that I seem like a newb..(im just gathering Info) that I should get..?

but since u can solder
go for an x2 lite
put the newest xexecuter 2 bios on it.. still 4981.06 i assume
to put games on the hdd u needa upgrade the hdd
unless u only want liek 1-2 on the original..
or u could burn the games to cd's.. whichever
yea u can play emus and such with a modded xbox
also divx's and a whole bunch of other special little things

Aladdin Advance Plus was the cheapest chip I could find that did all versions, Switch BIOS modes with power button, Turns power orange when enabled, Has socket for flash chip, and it’s worked great on everything I’ve tried so far, flashed with Evox M7 EF. Around $30 Canadian. I still don’t know why some people don’t like it! Only has a 256K flash but that’s what most XBOX BIOS’s are anyway. Some other chips are well over twice the price and I just can’t see any justification to spend any more money on anything else.

A little soldering advice for LPC form MOD’s, don’t solder the board directly to the LPC Bus! If you ever need to de-solder the MOD, it’s a major pain ! All my points are wired from now on.

And an exploit could cost as much as a chip. You can get an x2 for about $35. exploits require a AR, 007, and alot of hectic crap to deal with.

I'll have to read up somemore on the bios flashing I dont get that at all...Out of all features I like hard drive upgrade and auto backup play, aswell as playing emulators and games on the xbox.


like upgrading to a 220 gig err somewhere in that range
and playing game right off the box, thats awesome.




EDIT:correct if wrong... Found out that bios flashing has nothing to do with the chip its just another way of modding/playingbackups....I'd go with the chip..RIGHT?

BIOS is software that controls Motherboard Hardware on boot up . The BIOS is recorded on to a Flash chip on the motherboard. MOD chips do not depend on the XBOX’s motherboard BIOS. They all contain their own Hacked BIOS on their own flash chips. They override the original flash, that’s how they work, and most will let you switch between a Hacked BIOS or Original (disable modchip to play live games or whatever)

After the Motherboard has booted up, new BIOS files can be run from the hard drive with BIOS Loader software that resets the XBOX and then runs the hacked BIOS. This is how exploits work. But you need a way of changing files on the hard drive and if you mess up the Hard drive files without having chip installed you will be stuck with a non working XBOX and be forced to install a MOD Chip to restore the hard drive.
