hi all, I,ve just destroyed my board trying to chip it with a magic 3 chip. No electrons though the lights come on and the drive spins once or twice what I'm after is a reference picture for the fuses on the board or does anyone know which fuse it will be on re-examining the mod install I had bridged 2 pins on the bios chip.

PS would it be cheaper easier to buy a new mobo and where would I get one in the UK.

ok get yourself a set of clocks, and check all the fuses on the board as there could be more than one blown, so check them all !also take the chip out and all the wire and clean off all the solder you put on it with a solder sucker or solder brade. If you find the fuse/s that are blown solder a wire bridge over them and also check that you haven't moved any of the restors when you put the soldering iron near them if you find the fuse it should work if not look for a second hand ps2 and use the laser out of the one you tosted and take the magic 3 and burn it then get yourself a duo as they are a lot easer to install and a far better chip

Everything recommended here by sawdust is good information, except for the part where he recommends bridging the bad fuse with a wire. The reason being is if what ever blow the fuse in the first place is still there your just asking for more serious and pertinent problems with no protection from the fuse.

Hi thanx for the replies but I've tested all the main fuses on the board with a multi meter and they all show as being good. Is there likely to be one fuse in particular to look out for or could it be any of the surface mounted fuses.
