Angry Shenmue 2 problems

After figuring out how to get a .cdi into a Nero-useable file (yay me!) I burned it to an 80 min CDR, and yay, i was so happy. I had shenmue 2 disc 1!
So i start the game, watch that nice lil intro, but then, disaster strikes!
As i load up into the 1st area, it comes up with 'data read error in [insert something here].bin!'

The actual .nrg file was 719 meg. Is this what caused this error?
Do I need a 99 min disc thing?
Or is there another way?

My version of shenmue 2 was the echleon one BTW.

Any help is appreciated, I want to finish this game!

Well, in my experience, when I converted a cdi to nero, it always gave me grief. Others have used it and said it worked tho. I ALWAYS try to use the proper proggie to burn the image. Of course a CDI if a DiscJuggler image, and it's free for a trial download. Don't worry about the size of the image file, as they are usually bigger than the actual cd itself, due to the encoding data that is stored along with the image.

i had the discjuggler trial, newest one on the site I think, but when i tried to use the .cdi image, it crashed and said there was an error in cdj.exe, i remember it being cdj not cdi, and closed. So I used the cdi2nero proggy and tried fixing it. I turned it into DAO. Does that make a difference?

Thanks!

or you can use CDIRIP on the .cdi. and burn the .isos it makes with cdrecord.

or you can use daemon tools to mount the image
and use the echelon way.

seems thereīs either more than one file to be patched,
or you have bad quality material.

i canīt veryfy this at the moment,
but why didnt you download
discjuggler and burn your image with that?

www.padus.com

ok, dj is limited to lowest speed possible,
but why not wait an hour and have a perfect copy?

discjuggler doesnt like the .cdi image. it made an error and crashed DJ.

when unzipped from .oo1 .oo2 etc files, it came out with one .cdi.

If the aforementioned tricks can't get the game to work correctly, e.g. playable, then I will accept that maybe it's bad material and download another.

The game works wonderfully, until you try to load the 1st area in Aberdeen.

Thaks for all your help guys! Will report back with findings soon!

Yay! Sorry about double post, but problem is SORTED!
I tried using cdifix but it assured me the CDI was fine. but this time i turned it into a TAO nero image instead of DAO, and it works wonderfully!

Thanks for all your help!!

Did you use a cdi2nero older than 0.9.9, perhaps?

0.9.9 is the ONLY version anybody should use, and I've always converted .cdi images into DAO .nrg images with it (never TAO) and never had a problem.
