Toca Race Driver2...OH NO!

Just found out that this is going to use Starforce3 protection. I was looking forward to this, and now it's a no go. I've had FAR too many problems with Starforce. This protection is supposed to improve sales by avoiding piracy, but I think it's having the opposite effect! So many users I have spoken to are very wary of buying Starforce protected games. At least it shows up FADE for what it really is.

@ t.foster73:

How often again you want to tell the board user, that you have problems with StarForce3 protected games.
WE KNOW NOW!

(Forgive me, but I had to say that.)

I was just informing users who have Starforce problems that this game uses it as well. Hopefully, with all these Satrforce games, the crackers should be getting more experience with its usage. And now Hitman 3 as well eh? This protection is going wildfire sooner than I expected. I think that's me finished with PC games if it carries on :-( I'll be upgrading my rig soon (A64), so hopefully I won't have as many problems. Still, I hope the crackers suss this, as I would like my originals stored away if possible.

I will button it from now on :-)

If FADE behaved the way Codemasters stated i.e.Gameplay deteriorates over time, then there would be no reason to start using Starforce3 would there? The fact is a simple crack works with all these games. But Starforce 3 is a different matter.

I'm a bit confused here. On COPYBASE, they state the US version is Securom. Is this another case of regional variation? Who in the US is up for sending me a copy? (Name your price). I don't know if it's released in America yet, but I am willing to pay over the odds to get my hands on this game. I've read on many sites that the UK version is Starforce. Perhaps this is incorrect, and ours will use same protection as the US. The demo does install like a Starforce game though (Restart).

Calm down, people.
Race Driver 2 is not out yet. We only know that the DEMO'S are SF3 protected. Yes, then there is a big chance that the full game will have it too, but that is not sure. Better wait and see.

And about Hitman Contracts: on 2 other forums, sh*tloads of posts tell me that the game will have Star-Force. Now give me ONE independant source that can confirm this !

Do you have any reason to think Hitman Contracts WON'T be Starforce protected? I think this is all down to certain download sites (We all know where) not having games available that they usually would, if you catch my drift. I have never/or will never deal with Warez because I'm not a thief, but whether games are available or not are usually handy pointers to the protection they use.
