.tar & .wks Please help...

I d/l and unrared 2 files (daytona.tar & New Microsoft Works 4.0 Sheet or Chart.wks) I tryed to extract the .tar ever way that i can. (renamed, tryed unzip unrar etc..) Do i need a different program to extract it? & What is the .wks file? Please post anything if u can help me out.
