New-want to burn dvdrom games. need advice.

Hello--
Thanks for reading and hopefully helping me out.
i have a modded ps2 and gameshark 1.6. i burn my own cdrom games and am now looking to burn my own dvdrom games. i don't like having things ripped from the dvdrom games so that won't do it for me. i know i'll need a dvdrom for the computer. but do i need to buy a dvd-r writer, or a dvd burner? is there a difference? on ebay dvd burners are going from 300-1200 dollars, so there must be some difference. my goal is to burn a dvdrom game, then just stick it in my ps2 with no switch tricks. Possible? if not, i heard i can do switch tricks with GS v1.7/1.9. if someone could give me some help--remember, i'm new so i might not know all the lingo--i'd appreciate it. thanks for your time

To create your working PS2 DVD-R back-ups, you may wish to use PrimoDVD software which is made by Prassi. In addition, a Pioneer DVR-A03 or comparable DVD burner is recommended!

NTSC (USA) PS2 with the GameShark 2 v1.9!

Also what modchip have you got cos you will need a neo 2.2 with all 8 wires connected rather that 5 cos the ea method is used to boot or get one of the next gen chips ie messiah /neo4 when available.

You will need an original DVD game such as Dead or alive 2 (high table of contents) to use as a boot disc along with your GS 1.9(double swap)

golden rule is you need a original with a higher TOC than the copy your are trying to boot.

but if you have a neo4/messiah then it only a single swap

hope this sheds some light on the matter
