ps2 v4 only read some discs

I fitted a mod chip to my v4 but it would not work at all. I took it back out and it will only play ps games and some ps2 games and DVD's but not most of them. It just comes up no data. Could this be a laser prob?

v4 and lower have some issues with dvd-r based games try changing the settings on your ps2 and it should be cool.

The laser is probably getting weak, Sell it and buy a new PS2 or get a new laser.

I had ordered a “C” Type laser to replace the old laser in my V4. If it makes it work as good as V7’s it will be well worth the cost but the ****ers lost my money order!! Looks like I’ll be waiting a few more weeks at least.

Its possible to adjust the laser and hopefully get a few more months out of it. Do a search on "Shadowknyght". In his signature you will find a link to help you.
