Grandia 2 Question

On echelon's first release of Grandia, there was a part where it froze on the first disc. Its when you are fighting that one girl and she casts a spell and it freezes. Can someone tell me what files i replace on the 1st cd. I have the japanese version and i heard that i could replace a file. Thanks
