Unhappy Battlefield1942 and PUNKBUSTER

Just a few notes about the BF1942 NOCD versus Punkbuster.
I have noticed that many peeps are asking about the NOCD for ver1.6 and why they can't get online anymore, here are the facts on why and wot happened to our BF backup system.

1. You can't use any of the NOCD patches anymore to play online full stop! - even if you have a valid key.
2. You can't use any form of blood patch, external soldier, etc as these are easily confused with cheats and not supported by the Punkbuster enabled servers.
*Note that you can play in the servers that have 4 coloured balls next to thier icon, but only if that server supports the mods that you have installed. Their are about 20 servers not running Punkbuster out of around 1500 and I have managed to play in a few of them. But now all the good servers that I played in are protected and I have beed forced to use my original BF cd's (and back to the bloody disk changing for Road to Rome again).
I have heard that no possible fix can be applied to this problem as the Punkbuster system can't be altered. (permanent IP ban if ya try)

Punkbuster is a good thing as I have watched cheats and thier 120 kill scores - pah! And that cheat prog from Death Adder that has aim bots, trackers etc, now has no effect on your hard earned game playin' dollar. But damit, now I'm back to shuttin' my CD draw with the CD half hangin' out lol.

Sorry for the bad new folks but I guess it was DICE's only defence against cheatin' lamers.

My crapy little pic has been downloaded heaps but as you can see it is very poor cos' of the allowed size, so if you want a much larger and clearer pic - email me or message and i'll send it along.
Most people can't believe that it was happening lol - it was & by clans mostly.

I am happy to report that MiR ripped a nice 23 MB image that works like a charm.

No more BF:V CD churnin' up.

Yah, I'd prefer no-cd.

But having to resort to my MIR image before I'm banned from anymore servers for using a no-cd crack.

Punkbuster is banning non-cheaters which makes me wonder how effective PB really is. It still doesnt stop noobs from calling me a cheater tho when I find and kick their butts repeatedly.

It's good that we can talk about these issues and maybe get some good results, cos' I personally LUV this game, it realy has it all - and online gaming is for free! The ultimate goal would to be able to afford the *WW2 Online* game as it has Janes onboard. The gameplay is always 'on the ball' and the planes have 'G' force effects which remove the aces that realy are'nt lol.

Anyway some good news, the new NOCD patch by Hero;
Server 1.6.19 Fix By: =|HERO|=
is a part success! I have been able to play in many servers using this patch. Get it from the GCW download site and give it a try, then let me know how ya went.
I think this patch is designed so the server opp can have a choice about this problem, If its installed on thiers then ya in!

I was one of the unfortunate ones that bought the game when it came out and it was still Beta quality. Over 50% of the stuff listed in the manual wasnt even implemented in the game yet.
They kept giving free months then succumbed to charging monthly fees for an unfinished game and bugs. I refused to pay pay for any of their games again. Im surprised they survived.

Jesus!

Thanx for the heads up Ash. I'll research the game well before buying it. But some friends say that it realy rocks if you are a realisim nut, maybe the bugs are mostly solved by now.

Hey a got a chance to play that bf:v and wow hey! But I will hold off buying it untill my new PC build (2500+ & and more) is finished, cos' the requirements are very heavy. Has anyone found the vesper yet lol.

I'll stick to my battlefield for now and check the ww2 online game out through forums, i lust need more realisim damit lol.

I wish DICE would incorporate a realism option in thier next patch, G force and limited manouvers would be nice and how about some rain lol.

WWII online rocked while I was a "paying beta tester". They just consistently promised to fix bugs and implement advertised stuff and that just didnt happen. Plus you cant take your money back very easy for software. But I would have had a great arguement that the box had false advertisement inside and out.

That was probably about 2 years ago. I would assume by now that its a different "beta" experience than what I went thru.
