Projection TV's

Anyone got any experience with PS2 or Xbox on a projection TV. I just got a 52" widescreen and while its got a imput especially for a console the manual says that any accessory with fixed images for extended periods of time can cause them to be permanently imprinted on the picture tube. Of course the guy that sold me the TV said it was ok and he played games on a big screen all the time but what do you guys think?? Will it be safe as long as gameplay dont exceed a hour or so at a time or should i avoid playing games on it period . It clearly states in the warranty that damage from this is not covered.Anyone got any suggestions or tips??

Warlock, whats the differance if its the PS2 that has the image, or the tv stations that put their logo on the bottom right or left?. Anyway I play on a wide screen with a friend for about a 2 years now and we play about 30 hours a week and he doesnt have any image imprints left on his screen.

i think its just like a pc cause like if u leave it on a long time w/o screen saver it will burn a imge in the screen same with a tv say if u paused a game left it on for like all night then it might do this it would be best to trun off the tv in case u ever did pause it that long i know people that will leave there ps2's on like a week stright but me if i dont use it i turn it off.

I've got a HD projection widescreen tv, but I don't game on it cause I don't want screen burns. When you spend $1000+ on a big screen tv it would be cool to play games on it but not really worth it for such a large investment. It is really up to you. Anything that remains on the screen for an extended period of time, such as an energy or stat bar, can cause a burn in. You are even warned about watching the stock channel due to the blue and white bars running along the bottom all the time.

My kids are bad about pausing a game, getting interested in something else and forgeting they left the game on. I get on to them all the time about this. I think i will play it safe and not hook up a console. Better safe than sorry!

I have read that as long as it is calibrated right, they screen won't burn but, if kids want to play on it, i would say no. Just to be safe. I have a 55" widescreen HDTV and have played games on it sense the day i got it, it has been almost a year and it still has not burned. I even did a Halo LAN party w. some of my cousins and we played for almost 10 hours straight. Not a single hint of burn in the screen.

P.S. NEVER play video games on a Plasma screen, not only are they expensive but, i did a "test" on one because my cousin helps make them and played for a few hours and it burned in about 5 hrs.

I play on a toshiba memphis 1,10m diagonal and have not had any probs. Aslong as you dont leave it on pause for hours everything is ok.Even says in the manual that that you can hook up a video console :-)
