Unhappy Help with burning

Looking for a straight answer to this...
I am looking to copy PS2 games. I used nero 6 and gamecopy and the PS2 does not read the disk. I am copying to a DVD +r. I have heard you need a mod chip to make them work?
The question is .. do i need the mod chip? or is there a program that copys the games? I am guessing that there is copy protection on the CD's? If so, what protection is it?

Thanks in advance.

A few? All PS2 V5+ read DVD+R, but always use DVD-R, as it work far better, regardless of version. use some Ritek G04 for best results...
