Well 20 seems like a good round number. As I said, I can get and pay for 20, shipping them over here is a real problem.

Well since you have been to X-S and seen my replys on this, you know people really want them. Some have commented on paying $400+ to buy one of these. Even a few people at Bill's XBox forums have said the same so...

I don't know. I think I'll just stick them on eBay and see what happens. Originally I’d plane to only get four or so. One to keep, one to trade with another user for a Jap blue one, and one to have laying around and sell. But Than I got thinking…

I even called British Airlines to see what a round trip ticket would cost me. Around $500 - $600. But I figure after the taxes, hotel costs, food, and maybe a few things to do over there, it would cost more than the shipping. Plus I can only carry 140lbs worth of stuff on the plane with me. With out having to pay even more...

To bad these weren’t coming out in July, b/c I’m going over them than. Damn you Microsoft, rally have to make it hard for me huh? LOL

hey rms how did you find out about the clear ones? because i'm in the uk and i never knew nothing about them they aren't advertised yet or anything and i want one they would look pretty cool with all the lights and the jewel light i need a clear xbox

The info was leaked, than posted at Xbox-Scene. Than MS came along and said it was all true.

LOL ya you don't seem to be the only one who dose not know about them in the UK. I called GAME (I'm sure you know who they are) and they didn't even know about them until I forwarded the info.

I'm trying to see if I can get them to sell me an order that big and shipping direct from them so I don't dont to deal with a 3rd party.

Also got UPS to give me a WAY better shipping rate of $500 over the other one of 1k. So maybe this will all work out. It will take one more day, but who cares.

I use them from japan quite a lot and they're fast and a neogeo cd (Quite weighty) cost me $70 to come over in 3 days

I found out but it won't help..I do get about 75% off fedEx domestic and 3$ anywhere fedex ground through a buddy that is a manager. And I do work for one of the airlines .... So I've always wanted to see the U.K. and europe. Some of it at least......sorry no help

i'm looking to buy one of these crystal clear xbox's but.... i've heard they can't be chipped is this true? a couple of people have told me now

Its not that they can't chiped. The problem lies with in a rumer of a new video encoder.

In the last version of the Xbox XDK, released in December, the presence of a new reference for the AV has appeared.
Indeed, in addition to the reference to the Conexant and Focus videochip, 'Xcalibur' is also mentioned.
This new chip would seem to make its appearance in the Crystal Limited Edition Xbox. A German contact explained us that he had been able to get a Crystal Xbox and that the video chipset had the inscription "XLB".

Always according to this person, the installation of X2.3b and Xenium had as a consequence a beautiful black screen, which would confirm the integration of this new component.

However, as we can't see that from our own eyes you must take this information with caution.

And with a new video encoder would mean the BIOS would have to be hacked so we could have video on it with a hacked BIOS. This would take some time just has the hack for the Force video encoder did for the v1.4 and v1.5 XBoxes did.

As for getting one, good luck. It seems no one has any info on this. The CO I'm working with dose not even have a price on them yet. I talked with two other people and they both said non of their local shops have info or even a pre-order / reserve list.

Seems a little odd with only six days to go before they are said to be release.

Beware special edition 'Crystal' Xboxes It is rumoured that the new white special edition Crystal xboxes due for release soon in Europe and elsewhere have a different video encoder chip (Again!). If this is true, Linux video output will be unusable. We advise against purchasing it for use with Linux for the time being, until we are able to check it out, and make the necessary changes to accommodate it.

thanx rms2001 well seems my contact doesnt know what he's chatting about reckoned i could have one in a couple of weeks for £130 what a nobody! i hate that when you get some wanna be reckon they can get stuff he even reckons he's paid and just waitng for delivery! lmao
i did find it a bit weird as you say theres no advertising about them
oh well guess i'll just wait i dont mind though i'm saving me lights and stuff for it (if they're ever available)
