Hi Thanx for all the response i've had over the past few weeks Only one small problem left I'm using nero for the final burn - but losing about 20% dvds Even though nero says burned successful verified successful (some of te failures will play on a friends machine) What do you guyz think the 'de facto' burning programme I'm happy with dvdshink and decrypter and tmpeg author BUT tired of coasters - what do you all advise for burning appreciate a quickresponse regards

What media are you using? You could just need to change that.

ok... do get halv the fails on the riteks and half on the jvc+r? parhaps your standalone DVD have a hard time reading backups and you should get one who reads easier...
