convert a custom dvd from pal to ntsc?

i have a custom made dvd that i believe is pal because it wont play on my player(i was told it is pal as well). can i reburn this so it will work on my ntsc system. I tried burning with dvdshrink and using the open all regions option but i didnt have any luck thanks in advance

Conversion was never and easy or perfect science. Ive looked for an answer for this question for nearly 1 1/2 years. I havent found a sure answer yet.

What you were talking about were the region settings that just allow players to play the dvd. But you forget, or dont know that the entire movie is encoded in PAL. So a total reencoding would be necessary.

obviously if thats not your brand and model number change it lol they also have alot of helpful info there as well gl yes i can now play vcd and svcd on my dvd player thnx to that site and also mine is now region free i play all regions on my dvd player np gl

I knew about that, but thats not exaclty a solution to the problem. I have a different dvd player in every room of my house and I would like a solution to make the dvd itself from PAL to NTSC.

try a few different bruner programs rip it to your hard drive then reburn under the other format nero will do it np with that i rip in both to send to the states and ones that come from the states as well to pal format

you can convert the movie, but as tylor sad, it ain't easy... and you will probebly loose som quality... and it will probebly take som time! look around at www.dvdrhelp.com ... it can be hard to find some things at that page, but a search with google will help you... if you want to search for "pal to ntsc" you just typ "pal to ntsc site:www.dvdrhelp.com" in google...

Also even when you reencode your movie to be an actual true NTSC from PAL you will sometimes get funny looking lines through parts of fast action seqences. Its really annoying.
