Question Copy entire game to HD? Faster than cdrom?

I was reading somewhere that if you copy your entire game to your HD that it is accessed faster than the ROM Drive. Mine is a LiteOn 52x. Shouldn't that be quick enough? P.S. I need the copyright protection type for Medal of Honor..
Thanks

The CD-ROM has to spin up the cd to appropriate speed and this takes time. Then there is also the seek times. Playing from HD is quicker than from cd.
MOH usually has Safedisk 2 I think

Eagle is on a distinguished road
cd-rom : about 5mb/sec transfer rate | access time: >80ms
hdd: (theoretically) 133mb/sec | access time < 10ms

make you choice...

copying contents to HD isnt necessarly faster, but it slows down the burn process in order to progress over errors. Its a more safe approach then cd to cd.

Err, I do believe he was talking about playing the game from HDD... I might be wrong though.
Making an image of the CDs and playing using those and a program like Daemon Tools would be a lot faster (seek-wise and such) than using the CDs... but finding a No-CD crack will do the same
If burning, there's no real reason to copy it to HDD beforehand as I see it. If your CDR is equipped with some kind of Buffer Underrun Protection, and your Lite-On is (I have the same drive )

Thumbs up CD rom speed vs. hdd speed

Thanks Rancor... You are 100% correct. Isn't that why we all want the no cd files anyway. GEE! does it get any simpler? LOL
