Dru-110a

I bought this Sony DVD+RW burner the week it came out, but, part of the reason why i bought it was because I thought it would be able to burn +R media (when it was released) as well. I looked for a firmware upgrade but, can't see one. Does anyone know if i can get some upgrade so i can burn +R disks or do I just need to buy a new DVD Burner?

Thanks

These are the fixes that it says were done in the latest firmware update:

·Write errors on DVD+RW reduced by improving circuit settings for both 2.4x and 4x media.
· DVD+RW write strategy updated.
· Write prevention for unknown format of DVD+RW added.
· Write Strategy of CD-R: Ricoh32x, CD-RW: Acer, DVD+RW: Ritek, CMC updated.
· Overwrite performance on DVD+RW improved.

Too bad for me, it does not look like i can write to +R's for now.

Thanks for that link though.

Does any one know of a place were I could get hacked firmware for my drive? According to the box, the specs are:
DVD+RW: 2.4x Write/Re-write
DVD+RW, DVD-Rom: 8x Read
CD-R: 12x write
CD-RW: 10x Re-Write
Cd-rom: 32x Read

I was wondering if I could maybe get some hacked firmware so i can burn to +Rs or just burn faster.
