Pioneer 106/107
Hey, It's me once again with a burner question.
I was checking out Newegg.com before I ordered my Pioneer 106 ($115 or less) and noticed they had 107s for $140. The only thing I can find that seperates them is the 107 is about twice as fast. Think I should spend the extra $35 bucks to get the 107, or is the extra speed not worth the extra cash? Thanks again. |

It is up to you, but I personally would spend the extras 35.

i would go for the 107 but it will not write at 8x unless you update the firmware than it will write at 8x on most 4x disc's only some will not work it will tell you its burn ok but its 50/50 if it works so its best to keep at 4x or less which is the max the 106 will write at P.S. a lot of places will have sold all the 106's and only have 107's as they do not make the 106 any more

Yeah, I think the 107 is the way I will be going. From time to time, newegg.com has them at a really good price. Next time they come down on $ (i hope they do) I'm going to order it.
Thanks. |
