i wouldnt even try to use one if i was u the usb mod was made back in 01 i relly dout it would even work on a v9 unit if u want to go with a no solder ez to do install to play backups just get a fliptop and SM 3.0 disk vist
www.ps2cover.com or if u want a solder chip u can look at the top of the page for installers theres a guy on Newz that dose it for around $60-$70 for install and chip but for a v9 ur best bet is to get a solder chip like dms3 or smart chip cause im not sure how well Swap disk work on v9s i know the dvd disk plays fine i used it b4 but u have to be sure to get cd disk 3.0 or it wont work on v9
