Ok, just a quick question, ive replace the 0WINCEOS.bin file, and have converted the image to a bin image! Now have dragged the Bin image into Bin2Boot, and it asks me would i like to make an IP.BIN, i selected yes, and then asks me to give a name to the binary!!! I have never come across this before!, was i right to make an IP.BIN, and what do i need to name it??? 1ST_READ.BIN???

I would binhack the appropriate files to lba 0, make sure you put the ip.bin into the folder with the rest of your files, then make an iso with lba 0. Bin2boot that iso with
"bin2boot name.iso /nohack"
It should always find the record for ip.bin that way.

What this:

1) CDRWIN Method

a) Fire up CDRWIN.
b) Click the 2nd Icon from the Top Left: "File Backup and Tools".
c) For Backup Tool/Operation: Select "Record an ISO9660 Image File".
d) For Image Filename, Choose data.iso in your "selfboot" directory.
e) Under Recording Options, Select your CD-Recorder. Check the
following options accordingly:

Disc Type: CDROM-XA
Track Mode: MODE2
SPEED: Whatever You Want
Finalize/Close Session: Yes
Write Postgap: Yes
Open New Session: No
Test Mode: No
Verify Recorded Image: No

yea man exactly. But follow the whole tutorial !!
And of course you need an ip.bin that is hacked to lba 11700 !

If you follow these steps carefully, you should be able to burn this with no problem.

1) Get Echelon's Selfboot Tutorial (EST).

2) Unzip the contents of EST to c:\selfboot\

3) Unrar the game files to c:\selfboot\data\

4) Move "ip.bin" from c:\selfboot\data\ to c:\selfboot\

5) If you'd like to add a dummy file, do it now. Name it "000dummy.dat". Make sure you
don't go over (total of everything in c:\selfboot\data\) 670MB for an 80 min disc or 620MB
for a 74 min disc.

6) Open CDRWin and click on "Record Disc".
Choose "Load Tracks",
Disc Type "Audio",
"Add".
In the "Select Track File" window, click "Files of type" "All Files (*.*), then navigate
to c:\selfboot\ and choose "audio.raw". Click OK.

Test Mode - Unchecked
Use Disc Transporter - Unchecked
Open New Session - Checked
BURN-Proof (if supported) - Checked
Raw Mode - Unchecked
Speed - Whatever You Like

Choose your CD Burner from "CDROM Recorder" drop down menu.

***Note the 3 numbers (x:x:x) to the left of your burner's name in the drop down menu.
For example mine is 1:0:0. This is your burner's scsi ID number. From here on out it
will be referred to as x,x,x***

Click "Start Recording". When it's done click "Close".

YOU CAN DROP POINT 7 !

7) Open up a DOS box (by choosing "Start", "Programs", "MS-DOS Prompt" in Windows 98SE).
Type:

cd\ (which brings you to c:\>)
cd selfboot (which brings you to c:\selfboot>)
cdrecord -dev=x,x,x -msinfo

This should spit out:

0,11700 (if it doesn't you're kinda screwed, so hopefully it does )

8) Next type:

mkisofs -C 0,11700 -V SOLDIAZ -l -o data.iso data

9) Once this finishes type:
ipins
bootsector = ip.bin
iso = data.iso

10) Open CDRWin again. This time click on "File Backup and Tools"

Backup/Tool Operation - Record an ISO9660 Image File
Image Filename - C:\Selfboot\Data.iso
Disc Type - CDROM-XA
Finalize/Close Session - Checked
Write Postgap - Checked
Open New Session - Unchecked
Test Mode - Unchecked
Enable BURN-Proof (if supported) - Checked
Speed - Whatever You Like

Choose your CD Burner from "CDROM Recorder" drop down menu.

Click "START".

When it's done. Try it in your DC.
