New to DVD burner, need a bit of advice please

I just bought a Pioneer DVR 106D burner and am a little confused about something.

I have burnt a few avi's using Nero with no problems using normal disc's before but what do I do now if I burn a vcd from an avi onto a DVD disc?

How do I change the size of the disc to the right size etc. I presume now that I could fit a couple vcd's onto one disc and make some sort of a menu, or is that not right?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Use a prog such as Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 or Roxio Easy DVD creator to convert your vcd to dvd format and burn.

I meant as in, for example I had to watch the size of a minute fit onto a 80 minute cd, but now that I have the Pioneer I can fit a lot more onto a disc but how do I make Nero accept the size of the disc?

Use one of the progs mentioned above. It will allow you to put multiple vcds on a dvd and it also creates a menu.

OK, thanks for that one.

Which sort of disc's are better DVD+R or DVD-R, can I use one for everything or do I need to use different disc's for different purposes?

Thanks again

Thanks for all your help, got most of it figured out. It's funny though, you go to one forum and they flame Easy CD DVD creator real bad then you go to another one and they recommend it.

I know it all boils down to try and see for yourself, but there are few programs that such strong opposites of opinions, makes you laugh.

Thanks again

Roxio used to be horrible, but they have finally got it together. The peeps who bash it prolly havn't tried it since its bad years.
