Hi all, I'm trying to backup WWF Attitude, and it seems I end up with a bunch of 0 byte files, including the all important 1wwftude.bin file. The rip seems to go ok, but when I extract the iso's I get the 0 byte files esp in the cd-rom directory of the GD-rom.
Any ideas on this? Thanks - Tim - Kinda a newbie at doing my own backups. |

I got the same thing sometimes when using a serial cable. Kinda annoying since it takes forever!!! (Like when I tried ripping Planetweb 2.62) I ended up with the demo files, but the 1st_read and the whole pwbrowser folder was 0 bytes.
With a serial cable, it's so easy to come up with errors. It's so finicky about the slightest scratches and you gotta keep your HD nicely defragged. I've recently been using a BbA and I've had NO problems... and it only takes about an hour 1/2 to rip over 900 MB. For example, it took approx 1 1/2 hrs (maybe less, didn't watch the clock) to rip Evil Dead which was 979 MB for track03 and a little over 6 MB for track05 if I remember correctly. If you're going to do much ripping, I'd seriously consider forking over the $$ to get a BbA. I think it's VERY worth it. I'm going to be ripping WWF Attitude in the next few days, by the way. (It's in my stack to be ripped) Since getting my BbA-PC connection working, I've been ripping about 3-4 games per day (actually per evening, since I work during the day). I'll soon have my entire Dreamcast collection backed up!Oh, and I've been putting a custom XDP in each game that has internet, whether DK or DP. ex: F355 now has XDP (red/black/yellow translated Dream Passport) with the internet site backed up on the CD. You still go online for internet ranking, but everything else is right on the disc. I don't know why I got off on that subject. I'm sorry I can't really help, other than a BbA recommendation. Maybe someone else knows how to avoid this problem. Later, -Ex |
