USB flash stick>PS2 MC and vice versa

I was having this thought, if this is possible or even a tool exists.

I was wondering if there was a tool that i would boot on my modded PS2 and allow me to transfer save files from/to a USB stick connected to the front USB slots of my PS2, so as to easily transfer them from PC to PS2 and vice versa.

Thanks

Hmm... your expansion of my idea is good, yet i don't think its possible for a usb stick to act as a MC, because games are designed to work with MCs.
But, what it can be done is this:
Have the stick all the time connected to the PS2 and with a special tool, to be able to transfer saves from one device to the other. It would act as a storage device. Dump the contents of finished games there(in case you need retrieval in the future), thus creating new free space for new games in your MC

An MC and a USB Stick are more or less the same thing. They both work on flash RAM, so the memory format shouldn't be a problem (apart from the formatting). The difficulty is getting the games to work with the USB Stick. You would have to have a tool which, as you say, you would have to boot previous. This still wouldn't work in game. Your util would have to get the drive to show up in the Browser, and then copy games across from MC to USB Drive. (You would have to copy them back for use however). Technically, the USB stick would work - as XLink / Sharkport transfer saves through the USB. It's just getting the stick to be formatted correctly and showing up in browser, and the HDD mod hasn't achieved this yet. This mod idea and that with the HDD are more or less the same. It would be cool if both could be supported...

It would be nice if someone could program YaBasic to be able to do this for us...

Yes, inderstand exactly. It wouldn't work as a MC, but as an additional storage support and copy the needed files from USB stick to MC. Since it seems diffucult (if not impossible) to have the stick shown at the browser, a special tool would be needed, so to be able to transfer the files.
yet it would be very convinient, since the use of PC won't be necessary and it would be easy to transfer loads of saves, if for instance go on holidays.

Codebreaker V7.1 has a new code tool which allows the transfer of code saves from a USB Pen device to the memory Card, and codebreaker 8 boasts the ability to transfer saves back and forth.

Just my 2 cents

Interesting! I'm wondering if this tool is for NTSC or PAL formats.
Does anyone know?

I think i'll wait till 8.0 is out, but on the other hand, I wouldn't mind if there was a freeware

Also, YaBasic may stand for Yaroze Basic? Just a thought
