Sony DRU-530A

Just got a new PC and want to add a DVD Burner. I have a Pioneer that works great but i don't feel like taking out of the old PC. Any one have any feedback on this model burner and its ability to burn working PS2 backups???

Looks good but i need the experts to verify, not to mention this new Sony is only $169

THANKS!!

Mr.Ricky

I us a Sony DVD burner for my back-up needs as well as making home DVD movies. It’s called the DRU-500A which is pretty much the same as the one you’re looking at getting, just that one is the most recent upgrade of the one I have. It works great for me, I spent nearly $300 on mine when it first came out it was the first multi format DVD burner (+R/-R) on the market and I got it the first week it came out. You’re getting that one for a good price at $169. What better way to back-up your Sony PS2 game but with a Sony DVD burner

The Lite-on LDW411S is a dual media 4x burner. It works excellent for PS2 games, comes with RecordNow DX and is only $99.99 .

WOW DVD burners really are coming down in price. No need at all in my eyes for people to use rip kits any more.

Prices are dropping mainly I'm assuming but Due to Dual layer burners are on the way and fact that faster speed burners are coming out..So time is Money!! It's about time I upgrade to 2 new burners soon..

You can get a rebadged Pioneer A06 for $149 here minus $50 rebate here .

I was lucky to get in on this deal last night when it was $99 on the website, with the $50 rebate and a $20 off 100 coupon (total $30 +tax.) Still, $99 for a rebadged Pioneer A06 isn't bad.

I didnt see them $99 at bestbuy must had not been in the paper here. I think why they sold so cheap is there not selling them no more pushing onto 8x now. And that 99$ for the a06 thats a dam good price but how long do u have to wait for that 50$ reabte? I h8 rebates cause they take months to get back .

The rebate says it will take 8 weeks to process. You can check up on rebate status here

And for people who have an OEM version of this drive and want to upgrade it with the latest Pioneer flash firmware (the Memorex rips at only 2x, but with flash it rips at 12x), here is the universal DVR-106D flash (converts OEM drive to true Pioneer DVR-106D drive.)
