Need some help with PS2 DVD backups

I have a no solder mod chip and Action Replay 2. I have successfully backed up CD based games but recently purchased a DVD burner and have had no luck getting any of the backups I make to boot.

My first question is, does DVD+R work. I have an HP DVD200e DVD+R writer. I have backed up the games using both NERO v6 and a program called Alcohol 120%. I have attempted to back up NCAA 2004 and Madden 2004. I have attempted to use the boot up method for the no solder chip using FFX as the boot disc.

I have used Maxell and xhypermedia discs with no success. Anyone that could give me some advice would be appreciated.

Hello dippy1423

You want a program called Stomp Record Now Max. (Not sure if your drive is supported but theres only one way to find out!)
Media : Any Ritek dye media, try and get g04 if you can.
DVD-R media is better than the DVD+R in ps2's.
The DVD+R is cheaper to produce but most ps2's dont like them.
If you are using a swap mod its your fault if things dont boot. Wait for Evo to reply. Hes the one that likes the 'ghetto' method of booting

Hope that helps.

thanks for the reply

I have a v5 PS2. I've successfully played a backed up DVD movie on + media in my PS2, so I know that it will read it. I'll give the suggestions on media, backup software and boot software a try. Thanks.
