burner errors when doing ps2 games

i think i might had figerd it out im thinking my spare drive has something to do with it i unhooked and i will leave it on for awhile and see what happens if no freeze that means the errors on that drive and i will have to formatt it over 125 gigs in games took me awhile to get them on there but if it makes my pc work i wont mind formatting i will just put the games back on there as i go

Im confused as hell i try every thing to fix 1.8 reinstalled windows used only one hard drive switched video cards the pc will run for awhile and just freeze out of the blue im thinking i must had got a bad board or chip cause out of 5 barebone systems i build i never seen any do this i h8 haveing to return it cause they put u on hold forever and they want u to try this and that aftr they do talk instead of exchangeing it but when it dose work its very fast i can read and burn games while i play on the net b4 when reading it would slow down so bad that the mouse would jump when trying to do things, Any u guys ever seen a case like this b4 ?

well i finaly figerd out why my 1.8 has been freezeing aftr 8 formatts and mem test and ever thing come to find out it was the pos sound driver that caused it to crash. I noticed this last night when i formatted the pc and i didnt install no drives that came with the unit and left it on 20 hours stright never once messed up. So i install the sound drive then boom system resets on its own then error report came up serious error and system shut down to prevent damage then aftr it finaly installed then played a mpg video 1/2 way through system crashed again same as b4. do u guys know if i can use a dif sound drive off the net instead of this one cause it would suck haveing no sound.

Well Evo, you have been going through alot of Tylenol and as for the rest of you, lol, its all self inflicted.

OK your sound should not be interferring with the rest of the operation.
1st I have to ask, When you install the drivers for the sound, does it ask you if you want to keep the driver you already have cause it is newer than the one you are installing? If Yes, you must chose to use the older one as it is the right one for your sound to work.
Is your sound onboard? If yes, Go into the bios settings and disable it, then try to get the dvd burner to work first.

Do you suspect any virus activity, that might be causing this?

I must let you know up front though, I am training for a FreeStyle Pizza Tossing event that I compete in on monday 2-9-04. o it has no drivers at all unless i install then from that disk i went to add hard ware and it has them listed as yellow ? on them and says drives not installed so when i install them from the disk it crashes aftr it install like i can play mpegs useing media player and it locks the pc up right in middel of playing i also tryed the drive from syntaxusa.com it dose the same problem khafan gave me some other links with drivers im going to try them and see what happens and if it still dose it i will just buy a sound card from pricewatch they have a good plug and play for only 5$ shiped and it has drivers of its own and the burner that was on a dif pc but i got a lite on 4x same that warlocks got in it now and it works great i dont know what i did worng there but its fixed now.
