Cool Pioneer burner problem

Hey guys, my friend got a pioneer 106 recently to back up his games and I've got the same burner and same software (RecordNow Max 4.5) and mine works fine but his computer says no compatible recording devices could be found. Why won't his work? I'm new to this burner update stuff but I went to veritas and downloaded px something and installed it and it didn't work. I read something on here about firmware upgrades, what is this and how do you get it and do you think this is the problem or should I try another program.

Ok, RNM doesnt recognize the A06 burner. I think that RNM is also discontinued for Stomp's RecordNow Deluxe (RNDX). RNDX has support for that drive but any newer drives will need a registered RNDX to obtain newer pxengine updates.

As for your firmware question, read up on the pioneer site for info on those. I always keep my Sony drive up to date with firmware, but thats just me.
