You media is the most likely cause for the skipping. Try a diff brand.

Steer clear of labels too.
They may look good but they've been causing me nothing but grief lately

I use Shrink then Nero. (only 3 times now so Im by no means an expert) I B/U my copy of The Eye and found it to skip, pause and pixelate (sp?). I checked the B/U via the HD and it appeared fine (in the spots that it happened). I burned another B/U AFTER I defragged the volume holding the BU and dropped my DVD Burn speed down to X1.
I should have tried it after the Defrag with X2 but I didnt. So it seems you may want to defrag the HD and drop your burn speed. If that works up your burn speed. Hope it helps. |

Bighap got it right m8ty....try using a good quality media...
I have been through this whole scenario many times with various cheap media and anyway it may seem a little more expensive to pay say £1 for a disc (sorry about the english money) but i have stuck to traxdata (ritek's own brand) and have had great success even burning at 4x Another little bit of advice..(just my thoughts not others) but maybe try 'record max now' to burn the discs with as i have found that nero can be a bit glitchy and seems to use quite a lot of resourses when burning. The other bit of advice given was spot on about applying disc labels ...don't bother...it's a no no...cos it tends to unbalance and overheat the discs and can cause them to skip . |
