What type of guide are you after?
how to take the ps2 apart?
I have a guide for that but not online yet.
I got it from somewere but I can't remember the URL.
Also having a bunch of installpics that might help but I don't think that those are any different from those you already have.

Ok, taking it apart?
Installing the chip?
Where to put the chip on board?
What exactly are you after?

If you have the same installpics that I have or at least similar...
I installed a DUO chip and I put it next to GND point, the chip will be over the "Attention" text....
There is plenty of space to put it and the GND wire will be very short.
I'm now looking at a v5 installpics, you said you have a v5.

I hope this will help you..

I think that place is a very common space to put the chip on.

Yepp, I put it right next to the GND point, I think I have a 2cm GND wire.

Here is a Duo install picture that I did. There are many places on the mobo that people put chips, but this spot is one of the most common. But its really up to you and where you think it will work best. Just place it on the board with out sticking it down and try to imagine where you will be running the wires if you put it there.

here is the link

Good luck and eat allot of bannanas.....

Great pic Sped.

Gotta quick question, do you use low temp glue for your hot glue gun? Ive never used the stuff but have been considering it. I didnt think the high temp was a good idea though.

Yeah I use low temp. I saw a guy post once saying to use high temp because the PS2 mobo can get up to a high enough temp to actually melt the glue again and then it gets all over the mobo.....so they say. I have never had this problem with low temp. Just stay away from putting it on the IC's if you can for two reasons, 1 it can insulate the chip and make it over heat and burn up and 2 because the IC's do get kind of hot and could like stated before melt the glue. The BIOS chip doesn't get very hot at all thats why I use it there. Others use super glue, I use it from time to time especially on the back of the mobo when soldering to the via's the wires have to lay perfectly flat and there cant be a big blob of hot glue there because the heat/RF shield on the back where the Via's are lies right on top of the mobo.

Do you have any guides for installing a DUO on a v7

What I think i might do, is buy a faulty mobo off eBay and pratice on their. What you think?

Or should I just get it done professional (which is what i will proberly do, but i still have to get a soldiering iron for a subject i do at school)

You really dont need a tutorial for a v7. Just put the chip in basically the same area as the pic above showed.

If you need install diagrams just get them from www.modchips.cc

Dont buy a motherboard man. Just get any old broken electrical device (phone, radio, or anything). Then just open it up and practice soldering on the smallest points you can find.
