adding music

just wondered if anyone here has successfully added music to their games, i tried with aqua gt and demolition racer but the game just went to the play cd dc page, surely the game setup up needs to know the size of each file or you will receive an error, like editing an ini file.

Did you try to patch your 1st_read.bin with CDDA.exe ?

oh dear, no i didn't, not sure what you mean but i can guess what you mean, the dc is gonna look for the original files and my new files are alien to it. this is what i suspected, could you direct me to a faq, or give me a little advice as to patch the 1st read bin, i would appreciate it, as i have an xbox and have substituted the game music, makes the game much more fun.

I don't know about yours, but my Aqua GT had CDDA tracks already on it. I just replaced those with music by Andrew W.K. (makes the game SOOOOO much better!!!), and binhacked the 1st_read.bin to the new lba of the 2nd session. It works great. If I remember correctly, there are 7 music tracks, (4 ingame, 1 menu, 1 victory, 1 failure).

As for Demolition Racer, mine is ADX. For these you need to convert your wav files to ADX with ADXENCD. Make sure you rename them to the same name as the original ADX files. Again, mine worked great.

If you have a game where the ADX files are combined into one AFS file, then you need to unpack them with ADXUtil. Then do the same as above and repack them with AFSlnk. I did this with MSR and it worked great.

I hope this helps.
