Cat 5e Crossover Patch Cable ?

I just bought a Cat 5e Crossover cable, but it says on the package that its a patch cable. Did I get the right thing ? Its saying two different things here. Crossover and Patch are two different things. It says "Pc to Pc" and it has Male/Male on it. Did I get the right thing ? And if not, where do I get it, I got this from office depot and this is all that they had, and everywhere else that I went, even Best Buy said "Crossover Patch Cable" is it all the same thing ? I just wanna link my xbox to my pc.

Networking Pc - XBox

Anyone know a good website where I can learn basic networking ? I just ordered a X2.3b Pro Mod for my XBox, and once I get it installed, I wanna know how to link it with my Pc using EvoX. But this networking stuff is all Greek to me. I have the Crossover cable and the Standard NIC card like it says in the EvoX For Dummies Sticky. I just need to read up on this so I will know how to do it one I get my chip and have it installed. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Justin

It should work if it says "PC to PC". Just connect your PC and XBox together, if the lights on the NIC light up, it will work.

I tried connecting my xbox to my pc and neither one of the lights came on. Do I need a modchip installed first to be able to check it ? Also, that site didnt help much, it give me the ip's to use, but I dont know how to get into my computer to change it to what it needs to be. Can you help me ?

Also. When obtaining the bios for the X2.3b Pro, I had 3 choices, V1.0, V1.1, and Multi. Which one do I get ?

Thanks

hey dude, go to http://www.xbox-scene.com/tutorials....,0,0,0,0,0,0,0 here you will find some basic tutorials, and BTW you did get the right cable, i believe it should be a yellow colour, correct me if im wrong but i used to work at staples and we only had yellow crossover cables. the lights may not work yet but you have to have both your xbox and pc on for the lights to light up just in case you didnt know.
