Unhappy Please, help me out...

Hi there,

I've downloaded Record now max from the download.com page. But it appears that there are two versions. The first one is the European version and the second one is the 'normal' version. Which one should i get? What's the best because I'm from Europe but I don't think it makes a difference or does it. Why did they make the European version?
The second thing i want to know is if buying and installing a dvd-burner enough on my computer or do I need extra things. When I read the system requirements I'm really going crazy.. Do I need another sound or graphics card or not. My computer is an oldie ('99) and I'm planning to upgrade it very soon. I've got 333mhz computer with 3,1 gb harddisk and a philips cdd 3610 cd-rewriter and a sony cd-rom player as well. When I want to burn dvd's with a Pioneer DVR-106 or Pioneer DVR-AO6 which upgrade is recommanded and do I need a new graphic and sound card? Are there special offers available? Please let me know. As you can see is my system from the stone ages....

Anyway, thanx in advance

You want to get the regular version. You don't need a new graphics or sound card, but you definately need a bigger hard drive, at least 20gb. As it is you will only be able to backup very small dvds.

Thanx again

Thanx again Bighap! You really helped me out. When I buy a hard drive of 80 GB I guess I'll be able to copy all sort of dvd's and psx2 games or not? What do you mean by " As it is you will only be able to backup very small dvds?"

Thanx in advance LeBig Brother

Most ps2 dvds are at least 3gb, so with a 3.1gb hard drive you are very limited to which dvds you can backup.

Talking Bighap U the Man!

Hi Bighap,

Thanx again I know now what to do, buy a big harddrive and I can copy all sort of things. BTW Which Pioneer dvd-writer do you prefer; the 106 or the AO6 and isn't it a hard thing that you don't get any software for one of the drivers? Do you know where to get ppf-o-matic 3.0?

Bighap, U the man!

Thanx in advance

I would get the A06 but that is just me. That way you know you are getting a real Pioneer and not some other manufacturer making the 106. You can get ppf-o-matic here
