X-ecuter 2.3. Faulty or not?

I installed an Xecuter 2.3 lite plus with pogo attachments onto an xbox.
if the switch for the chip is off, the green light on the chip comes on as its supposed to then shuts off after less than a minute (which I think is what its supposed to do)
If the switch is on, no green light on the chip, just a green light on the switch but it just goes to the normal M$ dashboard, it doesn't ask for a bios or anything at all.

I've installed a 2.2 on another xbox and as soon as i got the green light it worked perfectly.

so is this a faulty chip, or have i done something wrong, or was i supposed to do something else as well?

thanks for the help (in advance)

I guess it's possible

A big mistake I have noticed with these (and I did it my first time) is that just becasue the 2 blue and 1 green LED is on doesn't mean the chip is alighed correctly. If the D0 is contacted you will get green but you don't need to make all of the other connections to get the blues.

I would keep trying before I sent the chip back as being bad.

but there is a green light which should mean the d0 point is in contact which should mean that it will work.

Yes, i did that.
thats why i got the blue led's showing me that there is power.

If I didn't do that I wouldn't have got any lights.

Someone doesn't listen too well

For someone looking for the help of others your being kind of a smart a$$. CactuSaq was only making a suggestion on something that may have been wrong.

Anyway....Like I said before.....just becasue you have green and both blues doesn't mean you have all of the contact points made. The green does mean you have the D0 contact but one of the others may not be good.

Try the cardboard trick:

Get a heavy cardboard box and use the outside or inside layer. Do not try to use the whole piece becasue it will be way too thick. Take a small piece of cardboard like a 1/2"X1/2" square and some two sided tape. Put the cardboard on the bottom of the chip's south west corner(if your looking at the front of the xbox.

The cardboard will keep the chip from bending when you tighten it down. It will also allow you to tighten the chip enough so it doesn't move everytime you move the xbox.

I wasn't being a smart a$$, I apologise if that was what it sounded like.

and I really do appreciate the help.

So thanks a lot guys.

anyways, I've been trying for AAAGES, and still no luck.
I'll keep plugging away i guess.
I tried the cardboard thing, but I don't think I done it properly, so I'll try it again.

And sorry, I don't know if its 2.3 or 2.3b. how do i check and whats the difference?

just one worrying thing, whilst trying to adjust the chip I slightly scratched across the board, should I be worried?

Scratch

I know this is frustrating...I was for me big time the first time I did it. After that it got easy. Your post just sounded smart but was probably the frustration comming out.

I know with the 2.3+ the pins are more pointed that the 2.2+ to help with the contact. The problem is that it makes it easier to scratch up the board.

If you have a magnifying glass make sure you didn't scratch a trace on the board. I scratched mine a time or two trying to get it lined up and it didn't do any damage.

sswats; I'd just send it back and request a new X2.3B.
No more USB power tab board.
