CHEAP DVD burner

Does anyone know where I can get a pretty cheap DVD burner (roughly $100) must be external!! My dad won't allow us to open the computer to put it in. So if i want one i need an external but all of the ones i have see are more expensive than the amount of money i am willing to spend.

It is basically impossible to screw up your pc installing a burner. Slide it in the bay and plug in two cables. Can't get much easier than that. Or take it to a shop and pay a pro to do it for ya for a few bucks if your dad can't live with self install.

I dont think we really have any place around here that could do it. I believe we only have one electronic repair place. Do you think we could get it done there? Also if we got one from office max or best buy could they come and install it for us? I think my dad may trust those guys more than me.

Best buy and Circuit City are not good choices. I know someone who had a Circuit City repair guy look at his pc for about 2 minutes to fix a problem and charged him $100. I am sure an electronics repair place could do it. Call em up and ask. If they don't, look in the white pages under computer. There has to be computer repair shops.

OK, I talked to my dad earlier about getting an internal and he basically said maybe. But I wouldnt be doing it. A friend of his at work would. This guy was ranked like number 3 in the state for what he knows about computers. And has done a whole mess of stuff to our computers. No installing DVD burners but he reformated our hd and all this stuff.

Hell I am probably ranked 10 million in my state and I have installed several drives in my computer no problem.
