copy a game with installation's files

hi boys, i heard that it can copy a game with only the installation's files. so i tried to save the installation's files of age of mithology from the directory C:/programs/microsoft games/age of mithology and uninstall the game.
next i pasted the files in the same directory of first installation and it worked.
but if i try to save only the installation's files on another pc, in the same directory, the initial interface and presentation start, but is impossible to play it because when the game is going to start, the screen return to the windows desktop.
....Snip. No need to mention your friend and what he gets up to in he's spare time - BW
i need help please. if anyone know anything about this, please post!
i think this method could simplify the backup copyes!
thanks

The real Installation process make entrys in your Windows Registry. So when you only copy the installed files and uninstall the game, you will never get these entrys without a "real" install of the game.

I will not talk about your friend and his Sims-Pack, because it's WAREZ. Read the board rules !

You could just do the 'Temp Directory' method instead. Pretty similar to what you are already trying to do. Read THIS (Scroll down to making a backup) or search for 'Temp Directory' on the Forums
