thought i had these vias cracked but...
been praticeing on an old ps2 board with no probs, scrape the laquer off, red jelly flux & .4 mm solder, easy. tried on a v9 console & the solder will not take to the board, any ideas. using decent solder & flux, weller variable iron tip temp set to 240c
P.S found an excellent & cheap aid to help seeing vias, clear safety glasses with a x4 magnifying glass fastened to one lense. made these for less than a fiver & works spot on, even though they look stupid |

use solder paste with flux built in
my advice practise on that old board, cd/dvd legs

cracked it! i had to scrape a lot more of the green coating off around the vias. used kynair wire & booted 1st time with messaih 2. seems a lot quicker to boot than my v7 version so i will keep it & sell my old one
