Tiger Woods 2k4 NTSC fix... Where ?

hi all

There used to be a patched default.xbe for Tiger Woods 2k4 Pal version to make it work in NTSC mode.

Why is it taken down ? and where 2 find now ?

I need to patch my PAL version because I want to run in NTSC mode via Enigmah video select so I can play it on My PC Monitor via my X2VGA adaptor.

can anyone pm me with a link or upload it somewhere ?

I hav looked many places and cannot locate (only a dialup user so am not registered on irc or news etc.).

well, the thing is that the default.xbe belongs to ms, even though it is one file, it is not to be distributed.

besides, i have no idea where to get it anyways.

Its just a file that patches the default.xbe to make it run in NTSC mode rather than Pal...

I know what yr saying but all such patches do the same thing to other copyright material but that doesn't stop them being available both here in the download section and other places.

The file I need is called : SK-tw2k4-NTSC-Fix.rar or similar

and used to be available from console/fixes/patches here at Megagames.... I know because people told me they d/l it from here but now it is not anywhere on the site so taken down.

Why was that ? perhaps it was accidentally deleted by the sysops here ? wish I could get it though as I really would like to see it on my vga monitor via my x2vga adaptor.

Pleez anyone that has it out there would you email me or link me to it somehow ????

If files have been taken down from any of the sites affiliated with fileforums its more than likely because certain game companies have complained. Mods are usually told to ignore any further posts on the subject of the game in question.

Having said that, I didnt recieve any notice nor see one. But I will treat it as if it was taken down for a purpose. You will have to look elsewhere.

Then why are there miles and miles of patches / fixes for every other game across all formats ?

Is this a hypocritical stance to take ?

I legally own the original Pal game and also have a backup that I wish to play on my vga monitor thus need to patch it to NTSC mode because Hi-Definition is disabled in Pal mode.

There is nothing at all illegal in wanting to do that and my understanding was that is why megagames.com and other such sites are setup to begin with.

Am I missing something here because it sounds fishy !?

You are missing something. Im not saying patches are illegal, heck they are just instructions to patch a piece of data.

When a game company complains we just say ok and take down the link. We dont take down every link for every other game out there. Just the link in question.

As I said you may have to look elsewhere.

ok ... companies such as EA who do that then are hurting people such as me who have the original game and want to play it on a vga adaptor... that is really annoying.... but I know people out there hav the file and was hoping they would be kind enuf to email it to me or something....

grrr ! bloody minded EA .... I will never buy another game of theirs again..... ever !!!!

Some EA games are very cool though. I dont think I could abstain from EA for too long.
