Disable Messiah2 Ver 1.33B with V9 PS2 ???
I bought my V9 Messiah2 about 3 weeks ago from SOCAL MODS and it has worked great in respect to booting games. I have not had any problems booting any of my backups.
Hopefully someone can give me an answer, since I haven't seen it addressed specifically to my situation. I am trying to disable my mod chip when playing games online but I can't seem to find exact instruction on how to disable the mod for this new version of the Messiah2 (ver 133.b) I know it says to make sure your in Standby Mode and the hold reset for about 5 seconds...but when I hold it for 5 seconds it goes to blue light then back into Standby mode. Am i holding it to long? Is there something wrong with my PS2 and it should not be going to back to Standby? I also noticed that the PS2 makes is making a lot more than my other V7 PS2 that is modded with a MAgic 3.6. I also noticed that the loading time for my originals is alot slower. Is this a common reaction for a Messiah modded PS2??? One last thing that was strange...I was playing FIFA 2004 online the other day (original copy), and got online played a couple of games then I got booted off the server (not strange in FIFA 2004, game having alot of online issues from what i've read) and when I tried to log on it gave me a DNAS error...now I thought I disabled the chip because I was able to get online...but did it turn back on ??? how else could i explain the DNAS error? I was using the original...If it did turn back on? how can that happen? Thanks in advance. Mr.Ricky thanks in advance... |

would it be worth updating the Boot Procedures sticky with the new methods relevant to v1.33b ?
just a thought ![]() Im sure that will happen very soon or at least when this v9 thing is a bit more tested. Tyler!

On the v9, your installer should have wired to EJECT rather than RESET (because RESET now goes to STANDBY). So to switch off Messiah2, from STANDBY you should hold EJECT till the electrons whirl and the sound is made. The tray comes out, you pop in the game and use EJECT to close the tray and load the original game.
I tried that this morning and the loading times of the game were normal but I got the DNAS error when trying to log on to play online, so i'm assuming that 1) The mod was not disabled ans 2) the mod must be wired to reset instead of eject So based on that quick test, it looks like loading times are only effected when the mod is disabled. Different PS2, different laser, different calibration/adjustment. Your installer could tweak the laser, usually with Azimuth adjustment. I presume this happens when the Messiah2 is switched off - well you haven't been able to do that yet. Let us know. Not sure I understand this? Haven't been able to do what? if you mean turn off the Mod...then I am pretty sure I have because i have been able to play EA games online and there would be no way if I hadn't disabled the mod. And your right the loading delay only happens when I have (or think I have) disabled the mod. As you hadn't turned off the Messiah2, you may have been detected. But I xcan't explain why you got on in the first place. Depends on the detection strategy and I'm not the expert. this one has got me stumped...its like the MOD turned itself back on...just what I need a chip with a mind of its own :-) |
