Hi to all, new here, hope you can help.
System is Athlon 1 gig
256 ram
4 gig main drive
40 gig second drive
Master cd is Optorite DD0401
secondary is pioneer dvd rom
running windows 2k fully updated
Clone dvd

i have enabled DMA on all drives, and this has speeded me up by half, the problem is when cloning a dvd the max i can get it to rip the dvd of 1.5 hours is 48 mins. is there something else i could be doing? many thanx in anticipation.

other than getting a faster computer, the speed sounds about right. you have to remember that writing 4x or 2x with the size of a dvd, its gonna take a bit longer than the old cdrw where as will copy 703 mb in 20mins or less depending on what speed cdrw it is. dvd's can be over 4 gig

If and when you decide to upgrade consider this as an option. Happy Holidays

i have an optprie dd0203,which is a 4x writer.the problem i had was clone dvd will only read and write at 1x,unless its updated since ive bought it. i would recommend using dvdshrink with nero6.nero6 will write at 4x,or whatever your drive speed is,it takes me 15 mins to burn a dvd.dvdshrink reads and saves to harddrive in about 30mins
